It’s a heck of a question, Ailsa – I’ve read both books of the series and am hard pressed to figure a particular genre apart from the Science Fiction Fantasy (SSF) general heading.
With Magic, Supernatural / Paranormal beings, Religions and even Romance, all included…
There should be a genre for Alternative Futures 😎
